Scavio’s entire career has focused on bringing more representation to the games industry, and in 2017 she brought this mission to her relatively new role as president of AIAS and to the DICE Summit in 2018 by launching a diversity workshop intended to help studios hire and retain developers from under-represented groups in the industry. As a founding member of Amplifying New Voices, a volunteer organization in its fourth year, Scavio helps create opportunities for people who work in games by opening up the Game Developers Conference for professional training. Scavio was general manager of the conference for eight years before coming to AIAS. Looking ahead, she is partnering with GLAAD in their efforts to reinforce positive LGBTQ representation in video games.
