A16-year company vet, Greenfield was tapped to run the venerable prestige movie division alongside David Greenbaum in 2021 when Stephen Gilula and Nancy Utley stepped down following Disney’s acquisition of 21st Century Fox assets. Although their movies earned big awards in early 2022, including a best actress Oscar for Jessica Chastain’s performance as the televangelist in “The Eyes of Tammy Faye” alongside a best picture nom for “Nightmare Alley,” the fate of films they greenlit in their first full year in charge — such as Yorgos Lanthimos’ “And,” starring Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons — will be a more accurate barometer of their success. The duo’s purview also includes Searchlight Television, which they launched in 2018. Its first production, “The Dropout,” starring Amanda Seyfried, garnered six Emmy nods in 2022, with Seyfried winning for her star performance as Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes, and on its upcoming slate is Mel Brooks’ Hulu variety series “History of the World, Part II.”
