In 2019, Strauss shifted gears at Comcast to lead the 2020 launch of Peacock, NBCUniversal’s entry into the streaming wars. He now heads both Peacock and Fandango, the company’s movie ticketing and transactional VOD division, which together aim to serve entertainment fans across a spectrum of touchpoints. One of his next big tasks is expanding Peacock internationally, although his team must first gain more traction in the U.S. with its free and paid versions. Strauss has operational experience from his cable years, most recently as EVP of Comcast Cable’s Xfinity Services group for more than 30 million customers after first signing on in 2004 as SVP of new media to lead content acquisition and strategic development for VOD and digital.
