Strauss is a longtime Comcast executive who made his mark as a savvy packager of content, cutting-edge on-demand features and data packages to cable subscribers. Now he’s leading the charge to monetize NBCUniversal content in new forms as programming streams for the largely ad-supported streaming platform Peacock. Strauss has been tasked by NBCU CEO Jeff Shell with driving Peacock’s distribution future with key digital partners. His appointment as head of the company’s direct-to-consumer efforts coincided with radical restructuring of its TV operations along content and distribution lines. Strauss also oversees a power center as NBCU’s head of international — a job Shell himself previously held — as well as Fandango, the movie-ticketing and fan site that serves 67 million monthly visitors.
