Prior to her 2014 Oscar win for “12 Years a Slave,” few could spell Nyong’o, but the Mexican-born actress has since become a fashion darling while taking on wide-ranging parts. Coming off the groundbreaking “Black Panther” in 2018, she toplined Jordan Peele’s “Us,” helping the film rake in $175 million on a $20 million budget. She starred in the zombie comedy “Little Monsters” and, after first appearing in 2015’s “Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens,” kept her hand in “Star Wars” with the animated series “Forces of Destiny” and the upcoming “Rise of Skywalker.” After narrating Discovery Channel’s “Serengeti” series, the road ahead has her showing off her action skills again in John Woo’s English-language remake of “The Killer” and spy thriller “355.”
