ABC is boosting its digital-exclusive originals lineup with four new short-form series available for free on its apps and website, including a sitcom from YouTube actress-comedian Lisa Schwartz.The four new ABCd originals — arriving before the fall TV season kicks in — come after the network relaunched its free streaming services in July. That was anchored by seven short-form series, available only online, including shows starring Ty Burrell and Iliza Shlesinger. In addition, ABC added full seasons of 38 older shows from its library like "Ugly Betty," "Sports Night"...
Schwartz serves as a full partner in all of the company’s operations, including oversight of creative and financial success of the film brands. She oversees the division’s strategy for creating and identifying strategic partnerships that provide longterm financial stability, along with domestic and foreign distribution for IFC Films across all platforms.
Schwartz was a key executive in the creation of the new infrastructure within IFC Films to fully develop and maximize the business model for the division’s day-and-date distribution initiatives.
In 2010, Schwartz spearheaded the launch of IFC Midnight and was one of the key architects behind the launch of Sundance Selects. She led the development of SundanceNow, an online destination where viewers can rent or buy contemporary and classic independent films.
Schwartz joined IFC Films in 2006, with more than 20 years experience in sales and marketing. She had served as senior VP of national accounts and advanced services for AMC Networks National Affiliate Sales, the national distribution division of IFC Films’ parent company AMC Networks.
