Rubo

Co-Founder / CEO

Liang has enjoyed massive success with video-sharing platform TikTok, which reigns as the world’s most popular app, but it has come with a cluster headache of issues. Since fending off the Trump administration’s efforts to force ByteDance to sell TikTok to a U.S.-based owner or be banned in the country, ByteDance has been working on a deal with President Biden. The goal is to resolve ongoing concerns about it sharing user data with China, which last year purchased a 1% interest in subsidiary Beijing ByteDance Technology Co., giving it a board seat. Meanwhile, the Cyberspace Administration of China began conducting on-site inspections in order to combat potential misuse of algorithms by local tech giants.
