Belson

President

The last two years at Sony have been big for Belson, who previously headed up development at DreamWorks Animation. In 2018, she shepherded “Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation,” which grossed over $528 million and became the studio’s all-time biggest animated film, as well as “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” earning SPA its first-ever Oscar (best animated film). Next year looks to be even bigger with original animated comedy “The Mitchells vs. the Machines” in September and the musical “Vivo,” featuring original songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda, in November, along with “Wish Dragon,” a Chinese co-production from Chris Appelhans (“Coraline”). Casting a wider net, she’s also developing adult-oriented animated projects, such as the Netflix series “Agent King” and Genndy Tartakovsky’s R-rated comedy “Fixed” and action-adventure “Black Knight.”
