Krishnendu
Majumdar

Cofounder, Me+You Productions / Chair, BAFTA

Elected chair of BAFTA in June 2020, Majumdar vowed to support people of all backgrounds, races, sexualities and genders. His appointment comes in the wake of the controversy over the organization’s most recent awards, which had no non-white nominees in its voter-selected acting categories. Majumdar rose to prominence as the director-producer of British docuseries including “Bleach, Nip, Tuck: The White Beauty Myth” (2009) and “An Idiot Abroad” (2010-2012), the latter exec produced by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant. In 2012, he and Richard Yee cofounded Me Plus You Productions, which went on to make the David Hasselhoff mockumentary series “Hoff the Record” in 2015 and the scripted comedy “Sick of It,” starring Karl Pilkington, which just aired its second season on Channel 4.
