Partner / Co-Head, Music

Sommer rolled up his sleeves when live music returned after the pandemic lockdown. WME fielded five of this year’s six top-grossing tours, with Dead & Company and the Zac Brown Band leading the pack. The company had four headliners at Lollapalooza, half of the top-billed acts at Firefly Music Festival and three acts lined up for the canceled Bonnaroo. A roster that featured Foo Fighters, Marshmello, Miley Cyrus, Tyler the Creator, Killers and Lizzo now also sports some of this year’s most consumed acts, including Olivia Rodrigo, J Balvin, 24kGoldn, Masked Wolf and Grammy-winning country artist Gabby Barrett. WME’s Music for Visual Media group had a fruitful year, too, snaring three of five score nominations at the Oscars and Golden Globes, with “Soul” winning at both ceremonies for Trent Reznor and Atticus Rose.
