CEO

In April 2018, Legere reached agreement on a $26.5 billion merger with Sprint. If the deal gets federal approval, it would create a company with a combined value of $140 billion. The process involved months of negotiations and meetings with the board of directors, banks, consultants and law firms, a nearly 700-page public-interest statement to the FCC and an appearance before the Senate Judiciary Committee that saw him sporting a magenta T-Mobile T-shirt under his black, logo’d T-Mobile blazer. In the midst of it all, he still had to deal with running the wireless company, for which he engineered the acquisition of OTT Internet-delivered cable startup Layer3 TV to increase consumer choice and laid out his vision to employees around the country on his nationwide #UnstoppableTour.
