Having wrapped up his “Star Wars” trilogy role as Finn in “The Rise of Skywalker” in 2019, the personable Boyega publicly noted he’s “moved on” from the franchise – and expanded his role behind the camera, in front of it and in the public sphere. His UpperRoom Productions company signed a deal in March with Netflix to develop projects centered in and around African countries (Boyega is British of Nigerian descent), which include crime thriller “God Is Good” and fantasy/horror “Spriggan.” Boyega’s also appearing in Steve McQueen’s anthology series “Small Axe” (BBC/Amazon) and feature “They Cloned Tyrone” (Netflix), as well as upcoming crime feature “Naked Singularity” from Scott Free. In addition, he’s received kudos for a moving Black Lives Matter speech he gave in London’s Hyde Park in June.
