The funnyman will continue to be one of NBC’s signature stars for a long time to come, as the “Tonight Show” host in November 2020 renewed his contract to remain in place for at least five more years. Fallon, who took over from Jay Leno in February 2014, has become more competitive in adults 18-49, tying Stephen Colbert for No. 1 after the first four weeks of the fall season in 2021. Meanwhile, NBCUniversal has announced several new projects with Fallon under his Electric Hot Dog banner, including NBC primetime unscripted music series “That’s My Jam,” “The Kids’ Tonight Show,” a youth-oriented version of the series, “Clash of the Cover Bands,” a competition show for the E! network and an animated series based on Fallon’s children’s books.
