Chastain
Ten years after first acquiring the rights to make “The Eyes of Tammy Faye,” Chastain won her first Academy Award for her leading performance as the larger-than-life televangelist and gay icon Tammy Faye Bakker, reinforcing both her fearlessness as an actor and tenacity as a producer. Chastain brushed off the box-office disappointment of the ensemble action film “The 355” and dove right back into work, playing Tammy Wynette opposite Michael Shannon’s George Jones in the limited series “George & Tammy” for Showtime, which she exec produced as well. She starred opposite Eddie Redmayne in the Netflix true-crime thriller film “The Good Nurse,” and coming up on her film slate are the psychological thriller “Mothers’ Instinct;” with Anne Hathaway, and director Michel Franco’s “Memory,” opposite Peter Sarsgaard.
