Collins

Collins had established himself as one of the preeminent purveyors of awards shows, executive producing multiple installments of the Grammys and the BET Awards in recent years. In 2021, he was tapped to produce the big one — the Academy Awards — alongside Stacey Sher and Steven Soderbergh, a task made all the more daunting by the pandemic, which forced them to radically rethink the scale and tone of the show while instituting strict COVID-19 protocols. The year also saw him executive producing Pepsi’s Super Bowl LV Half Time Show, which featured The Weeknd. His production company, Jesse Collins Entertainment, also produces a wide variety of content, from BET series “American Soul,” based on the life of “Soul Train” producer Don Cornelius,” to CMT game show “Nashville Squares.”
