Kleiner’s instincts are keen, as evidenced by five Oscar nominations for best picture in the last six years, most recently for 2018’s “Vice,” and two wins (“Moonlight” and “12 Years a Slave”). He began at Richard and Lauren Shuler Donners’ epoynmous prodco, before joining Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment in 2003, where he rose to producer and, finally, co-president with Dede Gardner in 2013. More recently, he exec produced the series “The OA” (Netflix) and “Sweetbitter” (Starz) and produced the features “Ad Astra,” starring Pitt, and “The King,” starring Timothée Chalamet. The current Plan B slate includes movies directed by Andrew Dominik (Marilyn Monroe biopic “Blonde”), Miranda July (heist flick “Kajillionaire”) and Jon Stewart (political satire “Irresistible”) and the HBO six-parter “The Third Day.” Plan B also recently entered into an overall deal with Amazon to develop series exclusively for their streaming service.
