Lumet’s drama “Clarice” debuted on CBS in 2021, the same year she signed a four-year overall deal with CBS Studios. The producer got her start as the writer of the big-screen “Rachel Getting Married” before turning to series writing and production. After serving as executive producer on “Star Trek: Discovery” and co-creator and showrunner on Showtime series “The Man Who Fell to Earth,” starring Chiwetel Ejiofor, she moved on to her latest effort in the “Star Trek” universe: “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds,” a spinoff of flagship Paramount+ series “Star Trek: Discovery” that’s led by Anson Mount. With writing partner Alex Kurtzman, Lumet joined with CBS Studios to launch production company 25 Stories, built around bringing prestige television by writers of color to the marketplace.
