Head

Salke is on a roll at Amazon Studios thanks in part to the groundbreaking Emmy success of “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” and “Fleabag.” Since taking over in early 2018, the first streaming comedies to claim Emmy’s top comedy series prize (in 2018 and 2019, respectively) have put Salke’s stamp on the company’s still fledging entertainment-programming efforts. Long an expert programmer, she has stretched the range of Amazon’s ambitions and implemented a more traditional development infrastructure to manage the sharp increase in TV shows, while on the feature front, she’s expanding with a mix of prestige and popcorn fare, including this summer’s Mindy Kaling showbiz comedy “Late Night.” The overall goal is to curate the company’s slate to satisfy 100 million-strong Amazon Prime customer base.
