Nederlander Organization

Nederlander is a third-generation Broadway impresario, but he’s not hidebound, as evidenced by the recent summer series of short-term residencies he secured for non-theatrical talent on the Great White Way, including Dave Chappelle, Morrissey and Barry Manilow. However, his bread and butter remains traditional fare such as current long-running smashes “The Lion King,” “Wicked” and “Hamilton.” More recently, Nederlander, whose name is synonymous with theater — had a hand in the Tony-winning revival of “Oklahoma” and the musical adaptation of “Tootsie,” and this season he’ll bring in the hit “Tina — the Tina Turner Musical” and Harry Connick Jr.’s “A Celebration of Cole Porter.” In January, he, Lin-Manuel Miranda and others purchased and will reopen Broadway’s iconic Drama Book Shop, which lost its lease.
