As MSG’s top exec, Dolan not only oversees some of America’s most venerable venues — from Madison Square Garden and Radio City Music Hall in NYC to the Forum in L.A. and live events including the Boston Calling Music Festival — he’s the blunt, oft-controversial man at the helm of twoo iconic New York sports teams: the NHL’s Rangers and  NBA’s Knicks (he sold a third, WNBA’s Liberty, in January 2019. In February, he announced plans for MSG Sphere, a state-of-the-art interactive venue crowned by a 160,000-square-foot LED screen. The first one is scheduled to open in Las Vegas in 2021, with another planned for London. He is also executive chairman of MSG Networks Inc., which owns two regional sports and entertainment networks.

Cablevision chief and Madison Square Garden chairman James Dolan has resigned from the board of the Weinstein Company, Variety has confirmed.
