Narrative Lead

While “The Last of Us” was praised for its tight narrative and empathetic characters, creator Neil Druckmann knew he needed help expanding the sequel’s story into a more layered universe with multiple protagonists and warring factions. Naturally, he went to Hollywood and recruited Gross to co-write “The Last of Us Part II,” following her TV credits on “Westworld,” “Snowpiercer,” and “Too Old to Die Young.” The writing partnership was successful, earning the duo an award for best narrative at The Game Awards 2020, as well as a permanent spot for Gross as narrative lead at Naughty Dog, a wise choice given the game’s acclaim for its tense storytelling and touching cast of multi-racial characters that include a lesbian protagonist, her partner and a prominent trans supporting character. In addition to her role at Naughty Dog, Gross is also developing a pilot for Gran Via Productions.
