De Posch assumed the post of RTL Group’s co-CEO in 2012 just a few months after being appointed COO. The new post marked a return to television for the executive, who served as CEO of rival ProSiebenSat.1 from 2004 to 2008. He began his career in the media industry at Luxembourg-based CLT, a predecessor of RTL Group, before moving to French pay-TV company TPS, where he served as deputy general manager and programming director until 2003.
In addition to serving as chairman of the Groupe M6 supervisory board, de Posch’s responsibilities include FremantleMedia, popular content includes “Idols,” “X Factor,” “Got Talent” and scripted series like “The Young Pope,” “Deutschland 83” and the upcoming “American Gods.”
RTL Group’s digital activities have become a personal priority for the co-CEO. De Posch is also chairman at BroadbandTV, StyleHaul and SpotX, RTL Group’s recent digital investments in North America. Discussing his executive partnership with Schaeferkordt, de Posch told Variety in 2014 that despite widespread skepticism, the two succeeded in creating “a great tandem that has brought this group to the level that it is at.”
