Marchetti
Chairman / CEO
In January, Marchetti — whose Notorious label pays homage to both Hitchcock’s film and Duran Duran — announced he’ll have 20 multiplexes up and running in Italy within five years, hiring UCI Italy chief Andrea Stratta to head up a new Notorious Cinemas unit. The company has been gaining traction since its 2012 launch and now has a library of more than 800 titles. “Rambo: Last Blood” and “Playmobil: The Movie” are among the 2019 releases in Italy, and Marchetti went on a buying spree at this year’s Cannes, snapping up Jesse Eisenberg and Imogen Poots’ sci-fi “Vivarium” and the Evan Rachel Wood-starring Hiroshima drama “One Thousand Paper Cranes,” among other titles. The English-language rom-com remake “Love. Wedding. Repeat” is set for 2020 with Netflix.
