Calderón Kellett’s reboot of ’70s sitcom “One Day at a Time,” which she and co-creator Mike Royce reimagined to center on a Cuban-American family, survived its cancellation at Netflix after three seasons to resurface for a fourth and final season on cabler Pop in 2020. When production of that season was halted by the pandemic, the show proved its scrappiness yet again, producing an animated political episode featuring guest appearances by Lin-Manuel Miranda and Gloria Estefan. A founding member of the L.A.-based sketch-comedy troupe And Donkey Makes Five along with husband Don Kellett, she broke into TV as a writer-producer on “How I Met Your Mother” and went on to creative stints at series including “Rules of Engagement,” “Devious Maids,” “Mixology” and “iZombie.”
