Since founding RedBird Capital in 2014, Cardinale has been a key strategic investor and partner to major media players such as Skydance, as well as a producer of high-profile projects including Amazon’s “Reacher” series and Paramount’s $1.64 billion blockbuster “Top Gun: Maverick.” He’s also been a player in the sports world, completing RedBird’s $1.2 billion acquisition of soccer team AC Milan in August 2022, adding to a roster that features upstart football league the XFL, which RedBird bought with Dwayne Johnson and Dany Garcia for $15 million in 2020.
