After nearly a decade and a half working steadily as a character actress, notably as Camilla Parker Bowles in Netflix’s “The Crown,” Fennell established herself as a force to be reckoned with behind the camera with her feature film debut as a writer and director, “Promising Young Woman,” which saw Carey Mulligan play a woman seeking vengeance against her rapist and his enablers. Shot in just 23 days when Fennell was seven months pregnant, the film received five Oscar nominations including best picture and actress, plus a win for Fennell’s original screenplay. She also earned two Emmy nominations for her work as a showrunner on the second season of BBC America series “Killing Eve,” which stars Sandra Oh and has filmed a fourth and final season.
