Andreatta
VP, Italian Original Series
As director of Rai Fiction — where she was Italy’s most powerful commissioning editor, clocking in some 25 years at the public-service broadcaster — Andreatta bolstered the creative reputation of Italian scripted production with global hits such as “My Brilliant Friend,” “Inspector Moltebano” and historical drama “Medici: Masters of Florence.” Her 2020 move to Netflix shows the potential the mega-streamer sees in Italy, where it is upping investment and opening a Rome base, moving its Italian team from their previous Amsterdam headquarters. At Rai, Andreatta created some 500 hours of TV drama per year at the company’s three channels and its RAI Play streaming platform. Overseeing the production of Italian original series, the exec affectionately known as “Tinny” will create big event dramas showcasing Italy’s remarkable culture and history and develop a slate of modern stories.
