Strong took over at Comcast-owned pay TV giant Sky in January 2021, having previously led Comcast Cable’s residential business in the U.S. At Sky, she has doubled down on original production; the firm has spent £500 million on more than 200 originals this year, more than three times its 2019 output. Tech innovation is a priority, too: Sky Glass, a broadband-powered TV set that doesn’t require a satellite dish or set-top box, launched in the U.K. in October 2021 and has expanded this year to other European markets. Sky Showtime, an SVOD joint venture between Comcast and Paramount Global, started its European rollout in September and will grow Sky’s presence to more than 20 countries.
