Fogelman finished season four of his acclaimed ABC family dramedy “This Is Us” just as the industry went into COVID-19 lockdown, and he spent the off season navigating how they would return in season five, starting with a two-part premiere that reflects his conscious decision to hit both COVID and the Black Lives Matter movement. He also got to indulge his lighter side as exec producer of the upcoming Hulu whodunit series “Only Murders in the Building,” starring legendary funnymen Steve Martin and Martin Short. The three-time Emmy nominee⁠— who also created TV series “Like Family” (2003-04), “The Neighbors” (2012-14), “Galavant” (2015-16) and “Pitch” (2016) — is currently in the second year of a five-year deal with Disney reportedly worth around $125 million.
