Netflix massively expanded its offerings under Holland’s supervision in 2018, and now the streaming platform seeks to drive up paying subscriptions even further past the 150 million mark as a field of challengers emerges in the direct-to-consumer subscription streaming market. She oversaw the launch of recent series “Russian Doll” and “Dead to Me” as well as the wrap of “Orange Is the New Black,” part of Netflix’s first wave of originals. Under her watch, the streaming giant earned 118 Emmy nominations in 2019 — second only to HBO — and has signed high-profile overall deals with the likes of Shonda Rhimes, Kenya Barris, Jenji Kohan and Ryan Murphy, not to mention Janet Mock, the first openly trans creator to ink a studio deal.

Netflix's Cindy Holland Says Subscribers Watch an Average of Two Hours a Day

Cindy Holland, vice president for original content at Netflix, kicked off the INTV Conference in Jerusalem on Monday where she was playfully quizzed by Keshet CEO Avi Nir about ratings, statistics and strategy. Although Holland kept her cards close to her chest, she revealed that the average Netflix subscriber spends two hours a day on the streaming service.Holland also said that most people around the world mainly watch Netflix on TV and multiple devices rather than on mobile devices only....
