Chairman / CEO

On the heels of the 50th anniversary of the ratings system, Rivkin welcomed Netflix into the MPAA fold in January, making it the first streaming service to join the movie studios’ trade association, now nearing its centennial. He spearheaded an organizational refresh this fall that unifies the MPAA’s branding across all domestic and international operations while continuing the organization’s global efforts to fight piracy and maintain and enhance production incentives. Rivkin served as president and CEO of the Jim Henson Company before segueing into the public sector in 2009 as ambassador to France and Monaco. He succeeded Chris Dodd as MPAA chief in September 2017 following a three-year stint as U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Economic and Business Affairs.
