After several years at MK2, where he produced films by Gus Van Sant, Walter Salles and Xavier Dolan, Gillibert founded CG Cinema in 2013 and worked with global auteurs such as Olivier Assayas, Abbas Kiarostami and Deniz Gamze Ergüven. The company’s successes include Ergüven’s Oscar-nominated “Mustang” and Assayas’ “Personal Shopper,” winner for best director at Cannes. In 2017 and 2018, CG productions drew more than a million admissions worldwide, placing the company in the top four purveyors of French cinema abroad. Assayas’ Cuban spy thriller “Wasp Network,” starring Penélope Cruz and Gael García Bernal, competed at Venice after finally being cleared to film in Havana. And Leos Carax’s “Annette,” a musical romance with Adam Driver and Marion Cotillard, is on tap for early 2020.
