Conde became chairman of NBCUniversal News Group in May 2020, taking on a portfolio comprising CNBC, NBC News and MSNBC. He’s made some bold moves since then, moving Joy Reid to MSNBC’s 7 p.m. slot and launching an early-evening news program on CNBC for ex-Fox anchor Shepard Smith. His most high-profile moment was defending the decision to give President Trump airtime when rival ABC News hosted President-elect Joe Biden in lieu of what would have been the second debate. Previously, Conde led NBCU’s international operations and its Telemundo Spanish-language broadcasting business.
