President, Programming

Bloys continues to preside over the development and production of popular series both at HBO and Cinemax, and programming under his watch earned the cable network 137 Emmy nominations in 2019. Capturing the public’s attention in recent years are series including “Veep,” “Barry,” “Big Little Lies” and “Sharp Objects,” plus limited series “Chernobyl” and “Euphoria.” Bloys has spent much of his career at HBO, first joining in 2004 as a director of development for HBO Independent Productions before moving up the ranks. With “Game of Thrones” bowing out in 2019 and HBO the core of WarnerMedia’s HBO Max direct-to-consumer streaming service, set to debut in spring 2020, Bloys is now charged with maintaining the cabler’s level of quality even while increasing its output dramatically.
