Gilbert is cofounder, with husband Aaron Gilbert, of Vancouver-based Bron, which has executive produced and co-financed some of the most talked about films in recent years, from best picture Oscar winner “Joker” (2019) to the politically charged “Judas and the Black Messiah” (2020) to the highly anticipated sequel “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” (2021). She has served as president of Bron Animation (producer of Netflix’s “The Willoughbys”) and oversaw its unscripted division Bron Life (HBO’s upcoming Nicki Minaj docuseries) while spearheading the company’s philanthropic efforts, including the Bron Content Incubator, which engages up-and-coming creators to make poems, lyric videos, narrative shorts and docs that focus on BIPOC identity. She also sits on the Film Independent board and heads up mentoring at Women in Animation.
