Doctor Strange may have started out as one of Marvel Studios’ lesser known superheroes, but after two gargantuanly successful appearances as the master of the mystical arts —
“Spider-Man: No Way Home” and “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” which have collectively grossed nearly $3 billion worldwide — Cumberbatch now finds himself at the top of the MCU heap. Sandwiched between those films was his second Oscar nomination for Netflix’s “The Power of the Dog.” Coming up are two more projects already in the works for the streamer: a feature adaptation of Roald Dahl’s short-story collection “The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar;” with Wes Anderson; and the limited-series spy thriller “The 39 Steps,” which the actor is also executive producing.
