Bocco
President
As the head of IFC Films, Bocco has built one of the most diverse film slates of any distributor, particularly when it comes to women: In the past four years the company has put out 35 releases by female filmmakers from around the world. Among her 2022 acquisitions:
the North American rights to director Robert Connolly’s Australian crime thriller “Force of Nature,” starring Eric Bana, Ravi Kapoor’s heist comedy “Four Samosas,” starring Venk Potula; and the U.S. rights to Matt Johnson’s “BlackBerry,” starring Jay Baruchel and Glenn Howerton, about the rise and fall of the titular smartphone. Early this year, Bocco helped spearhead the effort to reopen the Bradley, a historic 1915 one-room theater in Monmouth, New Jersey, where she had formative moviegoing experiences, and in September she was honored with the Trailblazer Award at the Woodstock Film Festival.
