Broadcast television is enough of a no-man's-land right around the holidays that some old-school celebrate-the-arts programming manages to sneak in, offering the sight of very classy people in their tuxes for the benefit of those of us who haven't gotten out of our pajamas in a couple of days. On the heels of last week's excellent pre-Christmas Paul Simon tribute special, CBS is back on Wednesday night with "The 45th Annual Kennedy Center Honors," offering a beautiful illusion of D.C....

DeBose
Besides a few minor TV appearances, the first decade of DeBose’s career was spent on the stage, performing Broadway roles including Nautica in “Bring It On: The Musical,” the Bullet in “Hamilton” and Disco Donna in “Summer: The Donna Summer Musical,” which earned her a Tony nomination in 2018. In 2020, she appeared in Ryan Murphy’s Netflix film “The Prom,” and the following year she had her onscreen breakout in Steven Spielberg’s remake of “West Side Story.” She was the belle of awards season after the role, winning supporting actress at the Oscars, Golden Globes, BAFTAs, SAG Awards and Critics Choice. Since then, DeBose has been getting cast left and right in the likes of the Apple TV+ comedy “Schmigadoon!” HBO’s sci-fi series “Westworld,” Chris Pine’s upcoming directorial debut “Poolman” and next fall’s Marvel film “Kraven the Hunter.”
