President / CEO
Having replaced Jeff Bezos as CEO in 2021, Jassy oversees Amazon’s mammoth online retail business and a line of smart devices, along with fast-growing Amazon Web Services, which provides cloud computing and storage for platforms including Netflix, Facebook and the company’s own gaming-centric streamer Twitch, generating nearly $80 billion in annual revenue all by itself. He also is in the process of slashing what will reportedly be more than 18,000 jobs at Amazon, the largest staff reduction in its history and the biggest number of job cuts at any big tech company in the past year. In March, Amazon completed its $8.5 billion acquisition of MGM, nabbing the James Bond franchise among numerous film and TV IP. This fall saw the debut of “Thursday Night Football,” which came to Prime Video via an 11-year, $13 billion NFL deal.
