Founder

Lloyd Webber has reigned as one of the leading figures in musical theater since “Jesus Christ Superstar” made its bow in 1970, and he’s got armfuls of honors (including six Tonys) to prove it. When the pandemic shuttered all of his productions around the globe — including the Broadway production of “Phantom of the Opera,” which has been playing at the Majestic Theatre since 1988 — he leaped into action, campaigning for reopening theaters with the installation of new ventilation systems and other virus-fighting tech in many of his theaters (he owns seven in London). In August 2021, his first new show, “Cinderella,” featuring a book by “Promising Young Woman” writer-director Emerald Fennell, opened in the West End to rave reviews after year-long delay. It is scheduled to come to Broadway in mid-2022.
