Driver, who worked the festival circuit this fall for Noah Baumbach’s “White Noise,” has impeccable taste for meaty roles. After saying goodbye to the “Star Wars” franchise, he went on in 2021 to star in director Leos Carax’s musical drama “Annette,” opposite Marion Cotillard, and followed that up with Ridley Scott’s historical epic “The Last Duel,” starring Matt Damon, Jodie Comer and Ben Affleck, which was named one of the top 10 best films of the year by the National Board of Review. Driver is often in A-list company, starring alongside Lady Gaga, Al Pacino, Jared Leto and Salma Hayek in “House of Gucci,” also from Scott, in which he played the fashion heir, Maurizio Gucci. Up next, Driver takes on another Italian historical figure: Enzo Ferrari in Michael Mann’s 2023 biopic about the car entrepreneur.
