Acun Ilıcalı

Acun Medya

After starting out as a sports reporter in the ’90s, Turkish personality Ilıcalı turned “Deal or No Deal” into a local megahit, followed by other Western game formats on which he serves as a Simon Cowell-esque producer, host and judge: “Turkey’s Got Talent” (aka “Yetenek Sizsiniz Türkiye”), “The Voice” (“O Ses Türkiye”) and the country’s incarnation of reality competition “Survivor.” In 2013, he bought national network TV8 and turned it into a game-show and reality-show goldmine. More recently, he expanded his Acun Medya’s global footprint, producing “Survivor” in Greece, where it wowed the country, and launching unscripted sports show “Exathlon” in Brazil, Mexico and Romania. Following the success of the Mexican incarnation of “Exathlon,” he signed to produce content for the nation’s TV Azteca.
