Long-running sitcom “MASH” said “Goodbye, Farewell and Amen” on Feb. 28, 1983, to huge ratings. The 2½-hour episode was the series 256th and remained the most watched television broadcast in American history until 2010 when it was passed by the viewership of Super Bowl XLIV. The series chronicled the antics of military medical personnel during the Korean War and lasted much longer (11 years) than the conflict it chronicled (three years).
