NBC’s roster of unscripted programming celebrated big summer ratings for the week of Aug. 10-16, according to data from Nielsen.
“America’s Got Talent,” the No. 1 show of the week with 11.4 million viewers, hit a season high Tuesday night. “American Ninja Warrior” also cracked the top 10, setting a series record with 7.2 million viewers in its Monday night slot. “Hollywood Game Night” made it into the top 20, hitting a five-week high with 5 million viewers for its Tuesday night airing.
CBS also had a strong week. “Zoo” bounced back from last week’s low, jumping back into the top 10 with 6.7 million viewers for its Tuesday night airing. The drama remains the most-watched new scripted series of the summer.
Unlike NBC and CBS, Fox is having a rather weak summer. “Master Chef” was its only show to crack the top 40, pulling in 4.8 million viewers on Wednesday night.
ABC’s “Bachelor in Paradise” is picking up steam after a sluggish start. The spinoff made it into the top 20 Monday night, with 5.1 million tuning in.
Ed Sheeran’s NBC concert special fizzled on Sunday night, pulling in 2.2 million viewers despite his recent perma-presence on the radio and his rabid fan base. On the other hand, NBC comedy “Mr. Robinson” held up well in its second week on the air. The Craig Robinson starrer pulled in 4.4 million viewers on Wednesday night.
CBS led network programming with an average of 5.3 million viewers per evening. The Eye occupied seven of the top 10 slots, with three of those belonging to “Big Brother” airings. NBC had the second-highest nightly average with 4.7 million, followed by ABC’s 3.3 million average and Fox’s 2.3 million.
TNT led cable programming once again with its power duo of dramas. “Major Crimes” and “Rizzoli & Isles” netted 4.5 million and 4.3 million viewers, respectively.
