Henry Chu oversees Variety’s international coverage. Based in London, he works with reporters from Paris to Beijing, charting the changes in local entertainment industries and their relationships with Hollywood. Before joining Variety, he worked at the Los Angeles Times, serving as the paper’s bureau chief in Beijing, Rio de Janeiro, New Delhi and London. He has won awards for his coverage of China and Europe’s migrant crisis, and was part of two Pulitzer Prize-winning teams at the L.A. Times. He holds a bachelor’s degree in history and literature from Harvard University.
