Jessica Barden, Omari Hardwick, Joe Dempsie, David Wenham, and Jacob Scipio have all been cast opposite previously announced stars Toni Collette and Bella Heathcoate.
The series is based on the best-selling book of the same name by Karin Slaughter. In a sleepy Georgia town, a random act of violence sets off an unexpected chain of events for 30-year-old Andy Oliver (Heathcoate) and her mother Laura (Collette). Desperate for answers, Andy embarks on a dangerous journey across America, drawing her towards the dark, hidden heart of her family.
Barden will star as Jane, a piano prodigy and the only daughter of a Getty-like billionaire. At first sheltered, she starts to break away from her controlling father as she begins to realize the depth of her hunger for love and freedom. Barden’s past credits include the shows “The End of the F***ing World” and “Penny Dreadful” and features such as “Holler” and “Far From The Madding Crowd.” She is repped by ICM, Curtis Brown Group, and Peikoff Mahan.
Hardwick will play Gordon Oliver, a successful lawyer in Savannah. When a shocking act of violence puts his ex-wife and stepdaughter in sudden danger, Gordon is drawn into a shadowy world. Hardwick is perhaps best known for his starring role on the hit Starz series “Power.” He will next be seen in the Netflix original film “Army of the Dead.” His feature credits include “Nobody’s Fool,” “Sorry to Bother You,” and “Shot Caller.” He is repped by WME, SMAC Entertainment, and Sloane Offer.
Wenham will appear as Jasper, the eldest of the three Queller siblings, forever driven to surpass his domineering billionaire father. His ambition both consumes and isolates him. Wenham previously appeared in the Marvel-Netflix series “Iron Fist.” He is known for feature roles such as “300,” “The Lord of the Rings” franchise, and “Lion.” He is represented by Anonymous Content and Shanahan Management.
Dempsie stars as Nick, a grad student at Stanford and best friends with Andrew Queller, whom he uses to ingratiate himself with the family. Nick’s a captivating and charismatic leader who has an uncanny ability to know what people need and promise it to them. But if you cross him, he’ll never forget. Dempsie is known to audiences for his role as Gendry on “Game of Thrones” as well as “This Is England” and “Skins.” He is repped by UTA, B-Side Management, and Atlas Artists.
Scipio plays Michael Vargas, an enigmatic stranger tracking Andy Oliver as she searches for the truth about her mother. Scipio recently starred in the hit film “Bad Boys for Life.” He also appeared in the feature “The Outpost” and recently wrapped “The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent” opposite Nicolas Cage. He is repped by ICM, Luber Roklin Entertainment, and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.
Charlotte Stoudt will serve as writer, executive producer, and showrunner on “Pieces of Her.” Bruna Papandrea will executive produce via Made Up Stories along with Steve Hutensky and Casey Haver. Slaughter will also executive produce along with Lesli Linka Glatter, Janice Williams, Minkie Spiro, and Lesli Linka Glatter. Sprio will direct the entire eight-episode first season.
