César award winner Vincent Cassel (“Black Swan,” “Westworld”) and BAFTA award winner Eva Green (“Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children”) headline “Liaison,” the first French and English-language Apple original for streamer Apple TV Plus.
The series is billed as “a high-stakes, contemporary thriller exploring how the mistakes of our past have the potential to destroy our future,” combining action with an unpredictable, multi-layered plot where “espionage and political intrigue play out against a story of passionate and enduring love.”
It is directed by Emmy award winner Stephen Hopkins (“24″) and created and written by Virginie Brac (“Spiral”).
The cast also includes Peter Mullan (“Ozark”), César award winner Gerard Lanvin (“Call My Agent!”), Daniel Francis (“Small Axe”), Stanislas Merhar (“The Black Book”), Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu (“Call My Agent!”), Laetitia Eido (“Fauda”), Eriq Ebouaney (“Rogue City”), BAFTA rising star Bukky Bukray (“Rocks”) and Emmy award winner Thierry Fremont (“Murder In Mind”).
“Liaison” is co-produced by Newen-backed companies Ringside Studios and Leonis Productions and executive produced by Gub Neal and Jean Benoit Gillig, Sarada McDermott, Justin Thomson, Stephen Hopkins and Ed Barlow.
Joanie Blaikie and Eric Jollant produce.
Green will next be seen in Lorcan Finnegan’s thriller “Nocebo” while Cassel has Peter Ho-Sun Chan’s “Li Na: My Life” coming up.
