‘Stealing Chaplin’ To Become First Comedy Film To Auction Collectible NFT’s
High Octane Pictures announced that the dark comedy film “Stealing Chaplin” will become the first comedy feature film to auction collectible NFT’s.
The distributor pulled 15 unique collectible NFT’s from the independent film, which can be found and bid on OpenSea’s website now. The film is available on VOD and DVD across North America.
“This new NFT market is especially exciting because it not only appeals to collectors and financial speculators but also to those, in our case, who want to support independent filmmakers,” producer Ken Bressers said in a statement.
Inspired by real events, “Stealing Chaplin” follows the story of two Las Vegas-based con men who dig up and steal the corpse of comedian Charlie Chaplin in order to ransom it. With the theft gaining the world’s attention and the reward rising daily, every local lowlife, criminal and dirty cop soon wants to get in on a piece of the action.
Directed by Paul Tanter, the film stars Simon Phillips, Doug Phillips, Al Sapienza, Peter Woodward, Ken Bressers, Anne-Carolyn Binette, Liliana Vargas, Bianca Katz and Newton.

Alliance of Documentary Editors Introduces BIPOC Database To Make Documentary Edit Rooms More Inclusive
The Alliance of Documentary Editors has launched a new public national database of BIPOC editors in an attempt to make documentary edit rooms across the industry more inclusive. Producers, creators and filmmakers will be able to easily search the database to find a larger circle of talent beyond their usual hires.
“As the doc community reckons with its lack of inclusion and equity, we want to make sure that the edit room is a key part of this conversation and that BIPOC editors have access to real opportunities,” the Alliance stated in a press release. “The doc community is currently mostly *white, and this has led to an overwhelming system of white creatives mentoring and promoting other white creatives already in their circles. Without a fundamental and intentional effort to provide tangible long-term support to BIPOC talent, these systemic issues will remain. It will take all of us to make lasting change.”
In addition to building the database, the Alliance is working with streamers, distributors and production companies to promote concrete steps that will help make their edit rooms more equitable. One of those actions would be instituting a mid-tier editing position called the Associate Editor, which would encourage mentorship and help rising editors gain experience and networks. BIPOC editors will also have the opportunity to network with producers at in-person mixers.
The initiative was spearheaded by doc editors Carla Gutierrez and David Teague with an advisory committee of renowned doc editors including Jason Pollard, Miranda Yousef, Malika Zouhali-Worrall, Francisco Bello, Sabrina S. Gordon, Steven Golliday, Kim Roberts and Carlos Rojas. It is also supported by Alliance partners at the Sundance Institute, International Documentary Association (IDA) and the Karen Schmeer Film Editing Fellowship.
Deluxe and Motion Picture Solutions Create a Sustainable Solution for Electronic Delivery of Content to Cinemas
Motion Picture Solutions (MPS) has sold 50% of Gofilex (GOod FILm EXploitation) to Deluxe, a global provider of solutions to the world’s leading content production studios and distributors.
The joint venture between Deluxe and MPS will provide world-class IP delivery through a single, sustainable electronic fulfillment platform. Gofilex is a Netherlands-based electronic delivery provider whose IP content delivery and event streaming solution is connected to a growing network of more than 3,000 sites across 36 territories.
“Gofilex has proven to be highly capable and innovative over the past decade, notably driving broadband delivery of movies to cinemas, and enabling live streaming of event-based cinema,” George Eyles, deluxe EVP and GM of Worldwide Cinema, said in a statement. “Our colleagues at MPS successfully migrated their own electronic distribution activities to Gofilex technology – a powerful endorsement of Gofilex’s e-delivery capability. Deluxe is deeply committed to promoting best-in-class technology and smart initiatives that benefit our customers while supporting the health of the theatrical industry as a whole. Rather than introduce an overlapping electronic delivery service, it is preferable for us to invest in and leverage the power of proven technology in the form of a joint venture with MPS, ensuring we collectively provide a sustainable electronic distribution solution to the market.”
“We are incredibly proud that a company of Deluxe’s scale and caliber should recognize the strength of our electronic content delivery solution to such an extent that it has invested alongside our long-standing partner, MPS,” Paul Huis in ‘t Veld, managing director at Gofilex, said. “The creation of one connected delivery technology represents an acknowledgment of the hard work and time our team and the team at MPS have invested over the past years. We at Gofilex look forward to expanding our solution into new territories, whilst maintaining our strong relationship in current markets and tailoring our service to suit the needs of customers wherever they are.”
“There are considerable advantages to the united approach that this joint venture represents. At MPS we always knew that Gofilex’s IP delivery solution provides the efficiency and adaptability that the industry needs to face the future,” Ian Thomas, owner of MPS, said. “Our faith in Gofilex has only been reinforced by seeing what Cathy, Paul and their team have managed to achieve in the past year. Without question, collaborating on technology that meets our needs, the needs of Deluxe, and of our collective customers internationally is the right move at such a critical juncture for global cinema.”
Under the ownership of Platinum Equity, Deluxe continues to focus on investments in cloud automation and systems innovation. The company acquired Sony NMS and Sundog Media Toolkit earlier this year.

The International Olympic Committee Sets On Location As Exclusive Hospitality Provider to 2028
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has set On Location as the exclusive global hospitality provider for all summer and winter Olympic and Paralympic Games until 2028.
On Location will offer fans and Olympic stakeholders hospitality packages that include tickets, travel, accommodation and unique in-venue and host city hospitality. Families and friends of athletes competing at the Games will also be supported by the hospitality provider with enhanced support for travel, a dedicated ticket inventory and access to accommodation.
The reform is part of the Olympic Agenda 2020+5 vision, which aims to simplify operations as well as drive efficiency and revenue sources. Previously, the IOC worked with various authorized ticket resellers (ATRs) from several territories or countries to provide tickets and other accommodations to customers. On Location will work with the Organizing Committee on the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024, Milano Cortina 2026 and LA28.
“One of the recommendations of Olympic Agenda 2020+5 is to deliver additional turnkey solutions that could be provided to OCOGs to simplify the delivery complexity of the Games,” IOC president Thomas Bach said. “This new solution will deliver a simplified, secure process for fans around the world to attend the Games. The centralization of the project also contributes greatly to better oversight and, with this, to good governance. It will also directly support the staging of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, all the National Olympic Committees and most importantly their athletes.”
“At On Location, we are dedicated to providing our customers with exceptional live event experiences that produce memories to last a lifetime,” On Location president Paul Caine said. “We are honored to join the International Olympic Committee in reimagining hospitality at future Olympic and Paralympic Games, and we are committed to providing stakeholders, partners and fans around the globe with exclusive hospitality experiences that uniquely celebrate each host city.”
