Jacob Fain has joined Elektra Music Group as senior vice president, A&R and head of research and analytics, it was announced on Thursday (Nov. 19). Fain arrives from Sony/ATV Music Publishing where he spent 13 years, most recently in the position of SVP, A&R and Research/Analytics. In this newly created role, Fain will report to Gregg Nadel, co-president of Elektra Music Group, and be based in Los Angeles.

At Sony/ATV, Fain is credited with signing hit DJ duo The Chainsmokers, R&B/soul star Leon Bridges, alternative group Of Monsters And Men, Chase Rice, who co-wrote the Florida Georgia Line hit “Cruise,” and hip-hop newcomer Russ. He helped develop and run Sony/ATV’s research and analytics department, which serves eight offices in territories including New York, Los Angeles, Nashville, Miami, London, Stockholm and Sydney.
Prior to Sony, he held positions at RCA Records and Republic Records.
