TV Ratings: ‘Sunday Night Football’ Hits Season Low

Sunday Night Football” was down in both measures in the Nielsen overnight ratings compared to last week, hitting a new season low.

The matchup between the Oakland Raiders and the Miami Dolphins on NBC is currently averaging a 4.0 rating in adults 18-49 and 11.7 million viewers, down from the preliminary ratings for last week’s game (4.3, 12.7 million). Last week’s game was also airing against the World Series. It should be noted that, due to the nature of live sports, these numbers will likely be subject to greater than normal adjustment later today. Last week’s game eventually adjusted up to a 4.8 and 13.9 million viewers.

On CBS, an overrun of NFL football boosted the numbers for the network’s Sunday primetime lineup. As it currently stands, “60 Minutes” (2.4, 14.5 million) and “Wisdom of the Crowd” (1.1, 8 million) are up significantly in both measures from last week. “NCIS: Los Angeles” (0.9, 7.8 million) and “Madam Secretary” (0.7, 6.1 million) are both currently up in the demo.

On Fox, “Bob’s Burgers” (1.6, 3.8 million) was up in both measures. “The Simpsons” (1.3, 2.9 million) was down in both measures. “Ghosted” (1.0, 2.5 million) was even, while “Family Guy” (1.0, 2.3 million) was also down in both measures. “Last Man on Earth” (0.8, 1.9 million) was even.

On ABC, “The Toy Box” (0.4, 2.4 million) was up in total viewers. “America’s Funniest Home Videos” (0.9, 4.4 million) was even. A new episode of “Shark Tank” at 9 (0.9, 4 million) was up in total viewers, but a second episode at 10 (0.7, 3.3 million) dipped in both measures.

As it currently stands, NBC won the night with a 3.9 and 11.4 million viewers. CBS was second with a 1.9 and 10.9 million viewers. Fox was third in the demo with a 1.2 but fourth in viewers with 3 million. ABC was fourth in the demo with a 0.7 but third in viewers with 3.6 million.
