Wendy Williams Passes Out During Her Live Halloween Show

Wendy Williams had a spooky start to her Halloween when she passed out during a live broadcast of “The Wendy Williams Show” on Tuesday morning.

Dressed as an elaborate Statue of Liberty, Williams was introducing a Halloween costume contest segment on her daytime talk show when she began slurring her words. She started shaking and lost her balance before collapsing on the ground. Producers rushed over to help Williams and the show cut to a commercial break before Williams came back on air and addressed the incident.

“That was not a stunt,” she told the audience. “I’m overheated in my costume and I did pass out. But you know what, I’m a champ, and I’m back!”

Williams confirmed her well being in a statement on Twitter Tuesday morning. “Wendy is feeling much better. She overheated because of her heavy costume, makeup, and lights. She was able to finish the show in true Wendy spirit. Thank you for your well wishes,” the statement read.

Later, Williams followed up saying she would further discuss the occurrence on Wednesday’s show. She wrote, “Everybody relax. I’m doing fine, just need some water and electrolytes. On another note, I slayed and laid Halloween, LOL!”
